Login Problem (work on server but not on client)

Hi ..

I have a Porblem with the login..

i run the eqemu 0.5.0 on one pc and can login

on a second pc i can't login (eqhost.txt has the right ip's) i get a 1017 error .. the eqinstallation is 100% the same (except the eqhost.txt)

the other problem is the version 0.4.4 that is on the same pc and use the same db .. in this version i get a 1017 with all pc's ..

Has somebody a idea how i can fix this ..

Regarding 0.4.4, don't mess around with it. Go all 0.5.0 and don't look back. You're opening a whole can of worms that will end up turning into a can of whoop ass.

You say you can access eqemu from the same server, but not from the 2nd computer. I'm 75% certain you have not set up the IP resolution correctly. This is the tutorial I used to set mine up when I ran into the problem: http://forums.eqemu.net/viewtopic.php?t=4177.

Since I'm a networking newbie, I actually learned some stuff from this about how networks work.

Hmm Ip resolution .. i think not .. because i don't translate hostnames to ip and this is one network segment .. so i only qork with direct ips (no routers, no names) .. so the resolution can not be the problem ..

ohh . the 0.5.0 is running too .. but the problem is the item db i can create the tabels but i have nothing to fill in because the 044 table called item and the 050 called item_ so the old sql files don't work and i have nowhere found newer files or a converter ...

The Test Network:

Server (Mysql-DB,World,Zones,Minilogin -192.168.0.21-)
Client can Login with 0.5.0 not with 044.

Client (Eqclient -192.168.0.20-)
Client can't login to 044,050.
