Error 1017.

So my trouble is error 1017.

My status is so:
My computer: P4 2500, 512 DDR, Radeon 9700 pro 128mb.
My Os: Win2kpro with Sp4.
server : dowloaded(0.4. and installed with the help of Guide (from your web-page). Starts without problems.
client(starting via "patchme"): installed classic eq without any expansion packs,then patched with autoupdate to latest version.
It seemed to be perfect.
Created acc connected & got "1017 error" on server selection window.
Using Minilogin.
This is server log (on connect):

Hi i just wanted to say its a problem from the patchs and client of 5.0 (**patch aug27**) everyone has that prob but if ur hosting it on lan for ur friends go to the minilogin part and add accounts there :D

ok first cause i had that exact error on lan tried to log on then i got some help from friend and found out at the minilogin u create a account ex.

The latest EQLive client does not work with any public version of EQEMu. We expect 0.5.0 DR3 to work with this client.

The ETA for a DR3 release is when we finish it. It will be considered "finished" just as soon as it is ready to be released, which is just as soon as we finish it. Hope this helps to clear things up!

Anytime I see a number other than zero in the '6' position you see above, I know it's not 0.5.0 server code. For example, you have 0x6912, when it should come across as 0x0912 on 0.5.0.

That means you are running some other version than 0.5.0. In 0.5.0, the network code strips the first four bits, so EVERY opcode you see come through Client::HandlePacket() will be 0x0***.

You won't find much support for running 0.4.4 here any longer, because not very many people have the client used to run it. Go with 0.5.0, and you'll avoid a lot of problems down the road (like "why am i getting 1017 when trying to connect to my 0.4.4 server with the EQLive client?")

There's a tutorial in the HOWTO section on how to run a 0.5.0 server.

No you can't. And read the front page...

The mention of EQ Patch files (or any eq files at all) is strictly forbidden. If you ask for or GIVE OUT links or even hints to links about where to obtain EQ files you face the risk of being banned.

I would be happy to test your server for you once the newest server release is out. Note that you will have to install it, which is not a short process.

like how longer times this one lol this one was kinda hard and theres not going be a step by step guide.. I kinda did this tho before helbreath and legend of mir and rakstone forget spell is kinda same setup :)
