Has anyone seen that new commercial by Cysco Systems? The one where they show a few guys being locked up for computer crimes? the people they call "hackers?" well i saw it and i was offended by the slanderish use of the word "hacker" and here is the email i sent cysco =)
I really despise being rude, but in this matter audicity is all I think I can manage. Your recent commercial showing "hackers" behind bars makes me (and a large number of other people) utterly sick to my stomach. Why must you propegate the word hacker as a bad thing? Is this not 2003? The word hacker and crime have been synonymous since 1983 and its time for a change. The educated few know that a "hacker" is not the kind of person who would commit (or be caught commiting) the type of crimes your advertisement suggests. In my eyes, slandering "hackers" is just as discriminatory as being a racist. This truly makes me sick to hear, but by all means, let the people know the truth. It isn't "hackers" who hide behind proxies making Denial Of Service attacks, it is CRIMINALS, plain and simple...
