Increasing damage of all spells
Does anyone know any way that I could possibly increase the damage of all spells other than editing them one at a time in a spell editor? I've noticed on a lot of emu servers that fighters will become a lot more powerful than casters due to powerful weapons, so I want to counteract that by increasing the damage of all spells, but I don't really want to spend all the hours doing it one by one unless it is the only way.

not realy a solution but - don't improve melee weapons then spells will remain in balance :D

You can easily modify spell or melee damage in the source code. The file you need to edit is zone/attack.cpp

I know this must be a really big newb question, but how do I get to the source code? I can't find any file named zone.cpp.

and NOTE - if you change anything there you will have to recompile it - which means you will also need your own C Compiler compateable with this code AND you will running on your own from there own - if you break something in there no one will be able to tell you what is wrong or how to fix it So, unless you have been taking some C classes - leave it alone PS. I have a degree in computer science - I am not touching the source code of emu with 5 feet stick :D |
haha ok, thanks for the advice. Maybe, I will just leave spells alone for awhile.
