a_guest03 you dont really need mysql installed to have a server.... i think all you need is someone elses ip, mysql password, and mysql name and you can edit his database or use it for your own...

hey kinis here, got my 4.4 server running until 5.0 comes out, while messing around with one of those 3rd party progs that came with eqemu it aperntly deleted all my items, casue when i went on...

actualy most of them are not 0.5.0, cause 0.5.0...

check your eqhost.txt and make sure that you replaced it with the emus eqhost.txt, if that fails make sure its connecting to 5997 not 5999, althought i doubt that would be the problem cause it will...

what port are you trying to connect to? if you are fully patched up then you need to connect to 5997.....or maybe you just a clutz like me and patched it after you put in the eqhost

ive had the exact same problem, ive also tried some other emulation for eq and get the same error
