How much better is it to buy a dedicated server?

Right now i am running a server on a computer in my network, the server is a P4 2.93ghz with 512mb of ram running windows XP which seems to do the task well BUT i am just running on a cable modem...

How did the SOD server get boats working?

I went on their server, and was in awe when i saw a boat pull up to qeynos. Does anyone know how they did that. I would love to get boats working on my server.. but it may or may not be possible on...

Connecting to server outside my local network

I need to see it anyone can connect to my server outside my network. Could anybody try to connect to my server and post here if you can or cant connect. my server is,

Wierd error on server select screen.

Im running eqemulator on a minilogin and
I had it working last night but now after
I get through the login screen when i try to connect
to my server and hit "play everquest" i get a wierd...
