Can't Get On a Server

After logging in, selecting my character, and attempting to enter the game, the screen goes black, and stays black, and eventually goes back to the server list... How do I fix this problem?

After I finished with the "Playing on EQEmu" guide, I was supposed to click on the shortcut to "eqgame.exe" and I did. Then I got this error...

"Error in your GUI XML files. Check UIErrors.txt."
