Starting a server

All I want to do is start a PERSONAL server with only me and to give myself GM privileges. Can anyone offer a step-by-step way of doing this? The readme didn't seem to help me very much. Thanks.

Everything is set to eqemu/eqemu. My login.ini file is set to Account: eqemu Password: eqemu
Then I logon using that same information, access my server and nothing. My character still isn't there....

Illegal operation error

I can connect to the server login screen, but whenever I click on a server and try to connect, the screen goes blank and then comes up with a message "This program has performed an illegal operation...
