I turned the firewall on the dsl modem off.
I do not see any way to forward ports on the dsl modem, but I do see something called "IP Passthrough" which is essentially DMZ....

I just noticed that all computers on my network have the same external IP. I'm guessing that is why it is important for the router to know where to send the request...
