I guess you could have the NPC do quest::doanim(____) .
Look for a good animation number which looks like casting, and then it will seem more real that the NPC...

And if the $zoneid is said in the $text ( $text = $zoneid ) , it should work? If the $text isn't a $zoneid , then the NPC would say something different.
