Default OpenZone 2.9 and other new goodies

I've made the following changes to OpenZone in this new release:

1. In the ground editor, expanded the "shade textures" option into three radio buttons:

- None
- Shade by slope
- Shade by elevation

"Shade by slope" does the same thing as "shade textures" in 2.8 and earlier, whereas "shade by elevation" is something new. I personally think shade by slope is more useful, but you never know...

2. Added quite a few more meshes to the mesh library. Several of them require the new texture pack (see below).

In addition to OpenZone 2.9, I've updated the "masks" texture pack. Nothing major, but if you have a spare moment and you're into making textures, go ahead and download it.

There's a new texture pack: Texture Pack 3. It's rather small right now and may grow over time. If I add any new textures to it I'll announce when it should be re-downloaded.

All of the new stuff is available here:

Enjoy,

WC

Awesome release Windcatcher, I know I was excited to see it
Would it be entirely noobish of me to request a small readme on how to get zoneproxy working (maybe with a picture) ? What you've posted in the past has been cut and dry, and very informative.. but for some reason I just can't get it to work.

Thanks for this release!

I just tried it, downloading from the mirror in Minneapolis. The ZIP extracted with no problems...

WC::
I hate to make requests when you've been cool enough to release this to us all( thanks again man) , but as per getting zoneproxy working properly with eqemu... would it be possible to get a possible code update that works with dr2 builds?

I've asked for expert advice with merging the code into the current dr2 build (acquired 1-12-04), and it brought up all kinds of compile errors (using the zp friendly code you submitted, mergining line by line).

Exactly what build of eqemu (date?) have you used to successfully get into your third party zones via modified code?

The newest source file in my distribution is eq_opcodes.h, dated 12-21-2003 08:55PM. When I put my ZP changes in this build it compiles with no problems. The executables in the distribution I downloaded were built on 12-21-2003 at 10:40PM.
