How to make a spell scriber not scribe certain spells?

I was wondering if there was any easy way to make a spell scriber not scribe certain spells, but still keep the spell in game as a drop?

For instance I would like 99% of spells to be scribed, but spells like the Magician 1.0 (which comes as a spell you use to summon the actual epic) should not be handed out for free. There are several other cases of similar spells I want people on my server to have to earn.

I suppose I could write a new perl hook or find some other way to accomplish this, but it would be nice if there was some way that's already in so I can avoid the hassle.
