trouble with character selection

I just got a new computer up and running, got eq all set up. I log in and click on ezserver and get to the character selection and my character is there jumpy, like my toon is stuck in a wall in game, anyway, it wont let me login, create a new character, quit, anything. the only thing you can do is hit esc and get out. I tried to select another server, same thing, character just jumps around and cant do anything

any suggestions?

what client are you using?

btw im running UF client if that helps

ive tried changing the screen resolutions, tried logging in with wineq2, with and without mq2 running

do you get the same results with other servers?

also, this is a fresh copy of windows 8 (which I already hate)

its like the character is doing that really really fast "on crack" dance lol

I just changed the client to windows mode true, and got the same

not finding anything regarding this issue. have DX9 installed and the correct graphics card selected via OptionsEditor.exe?

you know what, I updated direct x.............

i forgot, where do you check to see what directx you have

ok updated graphic card drivers, no change
clicked the link from lerxst that takes me to download dx again, did it, installed again, no change

nothing worse than getting a new computer and not being able to use it for what you bought it for lol
