Default Halp!

Need help with a 1017 error. "Can not login to the everquest server. You may need to rerun the update patch..."

Here's the skinny: I've messed around with this for well over a week, read all the forums, tried all the fixes --- nothing doing. I've installed the game on a friends PC from the same disc, he booted up and ran the game fine. I tried connecting at both his house where he connected just fine as well as my own house and I can not connect. I can get to the server login screen but soon as I click play on a server I get booted to the account login screen. I borrowed a computer from another friend who builds rigs, just so I could play, and his PC went kaput after a week so I'm back to square one.

Stats on my PC: Windows 7, AMD FX-4170 Quad-Core 4.2Ghz, 16gig ram. Titanium from disc install.

I've uninstalled/reinstalled about a dozen times, I've run as administrator, I've run the eqemu patcher, I've run Wineq2, I've run in compatability mode, I've alt tabbed and set affinity before logging in. I've updated all my drivers. No luck...

I can view the emu servers just fine and in fact have logged into them via other machines using same install methods and log file changes... my PC refuses to run the game.

Here's an excerpt from my dbg log:
2013-03-14 08:44:12 Networking: using port [49947].
2013-03-14 08:44:12 Networking: Connection Established [1]
2013-03-14 08:44:12 WorldAuthenticate: Initiating Login.
2013-03-14 08:44:14 Networking: Connection Closed [0] with 0 pending bytes.
2013-03-14 08:44:14 *** ERROR: WorldAuthenticate. My message arrival was NULL, the net has been shutdown.
2013-03-14 08:44:14 *** WorldAuthenticate. Checkpoint 3.
2013-03-14 08:44:14 Cleanup 4

I need my EQ fix! I would be eternally grateful to anyone that has a solution!

If anyone is on the P99 blue server, please message a guy named Crashh to take a look at this thread. I was supposed to message him in game to see if he could help me resolve this connection issue but now that I'm back to my own PC I can't log into the game to even do that. Thanks!

Maybe DEP has something to do with this? Try adding the way you run everquest to the DEP access list....worth a shot?

It's telling me Everquest can not be run with DEP exceptions. I've tried running the game with both firewall off and also with it on - hasn't made a difference.
