Default EQHOST changes itself...

...everytime i run eqgame.exe

i've modified the eqhost.txt 3 times, and ran the eqgame client with "patchme". the station name error comes up. it seems like the client is changing the eqhost info.

eqgame.exe patchme , sounds like your running the live patcher, and yes it will replace the eqhost text file to connect to the live servers.

First I would sugest doing some more reading cause the proper way to run eqgame.exe has been covered many many many times.

"c:\<path to eq>\eqgame.exe" patchme

Note the placment of the ""

I would still sugest reading more as it is clear you have not read much if you did not find the answer to this question.
