But what about the answer to his second question? Can you get your server to not post to the server list? I realize it sucks hearing the same questions over and over, but instead of replying and saying "go search", say nothing and ignore it, so a thread doesn't get built and having people view it only to find there are no answers within. I have scoured through these forums for the past several days and it is indeed daunting trying to find answers to things. The "FAQ" points to a forum. That's not a FAQ. You still have to hunt through the posts to find answers to common questions.
I'm not a computer newb, but I don't have experience setting up a server this complex. My experience is limited to running a persistant world for Neverwinter Nights.
So this isn't meant to say "Write a !@#$ing proper FAQ!", but more of me saying "It's hard for me to make sense out of all the data being thrown at me from several locations, so it must be hard for others as well. I would like to piece together a comprehensive list of 'To do this - follow these steps'" I realize there are several How-To's out there, but they appear to be platform and OS dependent for the most part. I just think this whole thing is GREAT and I can't get it to work. Hehe... I played EQ for about 2 years and swore I'd never play again. With EQEmu it appears it will be worthwhile to play again. So thanks to everyone working on Eqemu, the various databases, and all the tools that are used to customize.
