Default question about servers

Thank u everyone for the help on that one server this morning, It was great i was having so much fun makeing items and such thanks for the help, But the problem that i was having was the computer i made an iskar monk, i zoned in to FoB and both sides where blocked off, and i couldn't zone back, has anyone had any problems with this yet? please tell me what i am doing wrong tryin to play with u guys ehe

also can someone tell me what does it mean with 5.5. server and a 5.3 maybe that is where i am having problems also, i have current up to date EQ files, and play reg EQ all the time but thinking of makeing a server i just want to check out and see how it can be handled. but yeah to my question kinda added on to my post, is there someone out there that mind helping me to explain why i couldn't zone and why certin zones are down, and what is the 5.5 stuff?

5.3 and 5.5 are EQEMu versions. 5.3 works a pre FEB 10th live patch. 5.5 works with anything after.... So, if you are using a current patch, you will only be able to play on the 5.5 servers...

ok cool thanks for explaining it to me, so are there alot of 5.5 servers or they not up i don't see to many people playing on 5.5 or is it just me but it seems to me that i have more problems with 5.5 then i do with reg EQ. not zoning etc, if i try to zone out inot like FoB or Swmp of no hope i zone right back to where i tried to zone out to. so back to cabalis, so not sure. anyone?

Hey also was woundering while lookin around here, I am trying to make a server to have EQmu running i can have it on my PC and such was just woundering if anyone want to help me make a server etc, I also have webpage access to make a webpage for the server or etc, just woundering if people would like to help me build one and our make a team up?

There are guides on how to make your own server here if you would like to give it a crack.. (it is NOT that hard, IMHO).. go to the Tutorials and Howtos forum to learn how to create one using step-by-step guides...
