Default Dx9 Problems - Please Help

I am running a Gateway 2k on Wind98, old skool Voodoo 3 card, have looked and looked for recent Dx9 drivers, but 3dfx has stopped and only 3rd party tools are available but there are still no Dx9 updates for my card. I got on 2 of the servers on Emu and the screen was all dark and text was kinda screwy looking, relogged, rebooted and tried again but same thing, gamma was full blast, contrast + brightness up, so im guessing it was the Dx9 thing. Any help on what i could do to fix this or make it better so eqemu would actually be playable to me, 3dfx prolly wont ever get a new dx9 driver update and i prolly wont ever get a new 3d card so any help would be appreciated heh.

- thanks, the newb

Check out http://www.voodoofiles.com/

I saw some drivers there for win 9x that are DX 9 compatible...

Also, try going into your vdo properties, and turn off trilinear filtering, I used to have that problem (LOOONG time ago) with my Voodoo Banshee card...
