How to i stop the auto patch
When ever i open everquest. I goes to the auto patch screen. Every time this happens it replaces the eq host file with the original one. Can some one help me in correcting this promblem and how to boot the game instead of going to the auto patch thing.

Bummer. HOWTOs are your friends.
-Create a shortcut to eqgame.exe
-add "patchme" without the quotes to the "Target line"

There's a warning in the news forum "DO NOT PATCH."
If you already applied the Apr. 14th patch... then you're screwed till the devs make another release that works with the post-apr14 client.
PS: I'll just give you some friendly advice... don't ask for an ETA on that release

This guy deletes everquest.exe from all of his eqemu folders to ensure that they never get mistakenly patched. Only keep it in my Live folder.

Uh ya, you screwed. Re-install pre patch is realy reinstall "pre-Any EQemu source code out there will work with this" client.

Don't pay any attention to those elitist bastards (:P). Although they may occassionally say something useful, most of it's just cack.
However, these guys do happen to be correct about you not being able to play EQEMu until the next version comes out because EQEMu 0.5.5 (the current version) requires the DX9 version of the EQ client. And you can't get that without patching. Unfortunately, if you patch, you'll automatically get the Apr. 14 one which ALSO doesn't work!
Hopefully, the new version of EQEMu will come out soon though so everyone who patched before seeing that message will be able to play again (and believe me, you're not the only one!).

He may not be able to speak it, but he can read...
He managed to read the other posts saying how to play EMu, what needs changing...why couldn't you? No offence, dude.

chyrs, imo you're the one that has to learn english. It is fairly straight forward post, though possibly a bit slangy. As far as elitist bastards go, I would say no, just sick of clicking on all new posts and reading "I can't log onto EQEmu, Help!"
