Default Question

I'm installing EQ, I quit EQ a few months ago, should I patch or not? Thanks.

You will have to patch to get your copy up to date, however, dont expect to play on eqemu servers right away. Had you installed before the 21st you would have had no problem. Sony patched EQ on the 21st and the EQEMU Devs have not updated it since that patch. My advise to you is to update the game and wait for the devs to release the new version.
Cheers!

If you played in the last coupl of months you may be able to play on 5.2 or 5.3 servers if you can find any of them. If you can't play on them you have no choice but to patch and the current patch does not work with the Emu right now.

It's fixed. You should patch your version of eq to the latest and greatest

Make sure to get the LDON and GoD updates though, and everything else you dont have.
