Default getting started with 2.1 (client side)

If you are having troubles with 2.1, I suggest that you first do the client-side test. That means having your eqhost.txt point to the gotfrags login server and login with your gotfrags account. Then pick one of the open servers (maybe gotfrags).

There are two parts to this:

shutdown everything on the server-side

1. from eqw or eqgame.exe patchme to "connect" is client-only. So if you are having problems, it is your system pn the client-side only.

2. from server select to character select belongs to the server that you have selected (not your server). So if you are having problems then it is the server that you are trying to connect to.

Finally, if you get in and the zone dies, it is the server not your client.

This doesn't mean that you won't experience problems, but it means you don't need to tear you system down because of the problems.

this is what goes in the eqhost.txt file (save the old copy):

[Registration Servers]
{
"eqlogin.gotfrags.com:5999"
}
[Login Servers]
{
"eqlogin.gotfrags.com:5999"

}
