Default Shareaza

Just wanted to get an idea of the number of users that use Shareaza or another Gnutella2 client. The reason for this is I was thinking about adding all our releases and downloads onto a p2p network such as Shareaza. Due to sourceforge's unpredictable status these days, it might not be around forever and because Shareaza breaks the files into pieces and begins to share them automatically, you could theoretically get the files faster. Shareaza was chosen since the links are capable of including a SHA1 hash to ensure the download was authentic and for its popularity and ease of use.

No I use E-Mule which also has authentication options...

[edit] Plus it is not just a win32 app but is shared between all the *nix's too... = larger coverage area hehe...That is NOT to say that I wouldnt try others as well, but atm that is my mainstay for p2p, but if you want to talk about file transfer in general, I use newsgroups....

Yes, but Shareaza just uses the Gnutella2 network, so any linux/unix Gnutella2 client would be able to get the files also.

Shareaza, MLDonkey, Shinobu, Adagio, Gnucleus, Morpheus, are all clients that support Gnutella2 and I am sure there are many

Changing to p2p distro transfer would'nt allow CVS distro anymore, would it ?

As for your question, i don't use p2p for opensource software.

I use Shareaza and it works fine with me with alot of the torrent files. I use sites like http://suprnova.org To keep track of what is new out and so on.

I know of alot of peeps that use Shareaza is a pretty good program and the site I provided is nice as well.

What's wrong with CVS? I mean other than the fact that we're not using it anymore :(

The fastest one i have ever used is BitTorrent, i am not really sure how they share files, but the sites that do have it set up, its extremely fast, other than that, i use Shareaza, and Warez P2P client, to be honest, i personally find the best network is the Kazaa network, and you can get a spyware free version of it, at www.zeropaid.com, well anyway kazaa is full of alot of other shit other than the stuff you really want, but it also has a shitload of clients and its fast. so anyway yea.
