Make sure there are no spaces at the ends of the lines in eqhost.txt and set that file to read only.

Setting the file to Read Only does nothing except making sure no one mistakingly edits the file. My eqhost.txt is not read only none of the tutorials say to make it read only. If there were spaces at the end of his eqhost.txt file i'm pretty sure the server list would not even show up. However that might be the problem. I would also try repatching as one of your files may be corrupted. Its happened to me before in eqlive.

Setting it to read only also makes sure that eqgame does not change the file also. Because any time you start eq now and your eqhost does not point at Sony, it makes it point at Sony unless its read only then it can't. To set it read only right click, hit properties and check the read only box.

Well thats one way to do it but you could also just change it after you patch. And use the

eqgame.exe patchme

Version. I never thought of just making it read only i guess it could work either way.

The thing is even if you use eqgame patchme and never run the patcher, the GAME tries to change your eqhost back to Sony most of the times that you run the game.
