Default Logging in to server...

Alright,

This is a problem that I'm having on three seperated computers that are trying to play EqEMU.

I've narrowed the cause of the problems, and I know that it's NOT a patch problem.

I've replaced eqhost.txt with http://www.eqemulator.com/eqhost.txt and eqlsClient.ini with http://www.eqemulator.com/eqlsClient.ini.

Now, I assumed that these two files would be the only ones that I'd have to replace. When I type in my username and password and then click "Login", it gives me the EQ popup message that says "Loggin in to server..." and then hangs indefinitely. (I've let it sit for 15+ minutes).

Considering that there is not even a single mention of any steps beyond this (I had to rummage through tons of forum posts just to find these two steps), I really have no idea what the problem is.

Any ideas? Please? Very frustrating.

When did you last patch to Live?

This is the result of patching to the latest version. If you are saying that you have tested 3 seperate computers with 3 seperate patches then your problem is probably more obscured.

Melwin: I do think all computers are patched to the same version -- I think it's the one just before July 16 (don't know the date on it)... is that the problem?

I guess I could just roll them back, I have an old backup. It doesn't have the new UI though -- would that be a problem?

Where is the forum moderator? Apparently posting "hmm" is the new way to get your post count up and be cool.

In the future, I'm certain we'll be seeing more bandwidth-worthy posts from our friend Darkdrizzt. Either that or he ends up in the Pig Pen, and that's no place you want to be!

Either way, yes, this is caused by patching to July 14th, and yes, lacking the UI files will pose a problem.

Darkdrizzt, is the new cool thing to include your system specs in your signature? Wow, you rock.
