Default Eqgame.exe closing without error

Well after searching the forums for answers I've finally decided to make my own post, there are many users with problems with the eqgame crashing but my problem is a little different, I should also note I tried the solutions being posted for other users problems with no success. I have tried reverting Direct X, June and April, changing my refresh rate in client as well as new video drivers and even trying to get the game to start with different resolutions etc... and I've tried EQWindows... I've also tried solving this problem with SOEs EQ forums with no luck.

Here is the deal... I've changed my eqhost file as instructed and my shortcut target points to eqgame.exe" patchme as instructed. Eqgame begins to open, but as soon as it does it vanishes into thin air with no error message. The farthest it gets is a blank screen for a brief second and I can see the yellow EQ cursor. It should be noted my EQ worked fine a few weeks ago when I played on the new combine server, and that I uninstalled my EQ and deleted all remaining files for a fresh Titanium install - and never patched. I have reinstalled twice in hopes of getting this to work. I am out of ideas... It should also be said that I am somewhat of a newb. I was using Omega drivers (with my nvidia 6800) but am now using official nvidia drivers (which has not helped). Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Please ignore my dumb ass, I took the instructions way too literally and instead of making a host.legit.txt backup file I made that my only file, basically meaning I had no host.txt file at all... If I was emo I'd cut my wrist right now but instead I'll hang my head in shame...

Don't worry about it - it took me a full week to figure things out. And yes its the little dumb errors that were usualy holding me up - haha.
