Default Way to bypass login server?

I've been playing on Krusher's for awhile, but I always have trouble with the login server. First it was the eqgame.exe crash, now I just have a lot of timeouts and problems with the server selection screen. Is there a way to start up EQ and directly connect to the server instead of opening up EQ and picking through the server list? I read something on a post I can't find now about using the command prompt or run to do that but forcing the game to start up and connect to a specific host ip. Also, any idea why the direct connect option on the login screen would switch to a server I've literally never logged into? I just hit that and it got me in, but to a server with no one on and that I'd never played on before... sort of strange. Thanks for any advice in advance

The server admin would need to config for Minilogin and support that method to bypass the eqemulator.net login server. There are ways to do it, but the public login server is far superior and more secure - even with it's problems.

Indeed.

Bypassing the LS for a public server is just silly. It's just not what minilogin is for (keyword is "mini")
