Default Left earring go poof

very strange issue. Love the emu by the way. Awesome even at .7.

I'm running my own personal server for the family. The family that slays together stays together.

Anyway, I have a left ear. Duh. I put earring on said ear. I zone, earring disappears and a new "Short Sword" appears in my inventory. This had me freaking out for a while as I just *knew* I had an earring and I couldn't for the life of me figure out where the stupid sword was coming from.

2 + 2 = ?

So I now know the two are related but not why it is happening or how to make it stop.

Can anyone toss me a clue? Ever happen to you?

I have searched the board and the wiki. This happens with npc purchased and random drop earrings. Haven't tried making any.

Thanks in advance.

What does the DB say you have in the inventory table (slotid should be 1 for the left ear)? And does it change when you zone?

Hmmm. The last earring I tried was an onyx earring. It still shows that as the itemid although in my in game inventory, it's blank. The agi on the earring (agi+2) is not modifying my agi.

Didn't change on zone.

Maybe a silly question, but are you using a custom UI ?

Nope. Basic UI that comes with it.

But I tried something else. I put another earring in and then removed it. Then I checked my inventory in the database and now the item id is a 5001: a short sword. weird!

You might want to check the zone log. If I remember correctly, I believe it's the one that records items changing slots, etc. It might shed some light on the issue.

I found it but I'm not sure what it means. My left ear was empty and my right eat had the Pearly Sarnak Bangle. I moved the sarnak bangle to my left ear and then back to the right. I still can't figure out where the short sword is coming from.
