chat/mail server

ok im not finding any helpful info and i tryed everything i can think of without success.

im trying to figure out how the chat/mail server thingy works.

i searched the forms then i went to the irc irc.eqemulator.net and set up a chan with my short name SoA and still did not work. i used the default setting channel.eqemulator.net still nothing.

how do i get these to work?

what steps do i have to take to get them to work.

anything would be helpful at this point.

the chatchannels are not running at the moment... they havent the past couple months not sure why.

ill try and investigate why its not up atm.

And sorry about replying to my own post. I just did not get an answer so figured i would give it one more try without starting a new topic. just did not realize it was frowned upon ill refrain from doing so in th future.

would it be possible to start my own chat channel somewhere. maybe even redo the code abit to do so. i don't know much about how the system works so im not even sure if you can run your own but figer its worth asking.
