Default A new here with a logging problem

Hello everyone
I'm a new player want to try EQemu.
Since I've installed the program and got my account (probably), I am stuck at the message, "logging in to the server, please wait...", for 30 minutes.
What should I do now?

Please help me.

Are you using this guide to get started:

http://www.eqemulator.net/wiki/wikka...akka=PlayGuide

That is what you should be using. Maybe try restarting your PC.

I followed a mandarin guild.(I'm a Taiwanese) I checked with the original one, and it seems not thing different.

Well... It tried restart my computer, but it doesn't work.

Would the problem caused by Using the same ID and password at the forum account and Login Server Account.

No, that shouldn't matter. If your account had an issue, you would get a message saying invalid username or password.

Possibly your ISP could be blocking ports needed to reach the login server. I know some asian ISPs do occasionally block certain things in other parts of the world.

Try going to command prompt and typing the following and see if you get a reply from the ping:

Code:
ping www.eqemulator.net:5998
Also, you might want to try using the IP of 64.251.21.39 in your eqhost.txt file instead of using www.eqemulator.net, just in case there is a DNS issue.

Does the SOD patcher change the hosts file on the pc?
You can check it here C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc
See if there are any lines in there related to everquest.

Hello.

I have about the same problem.

Changed my eqhost.txt, prevented patch...
Tried to make a new login for a friend in the US to test (l: testingage ) worked for her and not for me.

All the time I try to log in, I get a message saying my username and/or password are invalid. I do not think there is an issue with international users, but I did everything according to playguide.
