Default i'm new to this whole idea and have some simple questions

i haven't played EQ in years and have begun to miss it so i read about some of these emu servers and they sounded fun. my first question is, i downloaded SoD a year or so again on a now dead computer, is there any way to re-download it on my new computer and then use that download for the emu server? second i'm most interested in reliving the PoP expansion are there servers your able to do that on or do most not go that far? finally i would like to be able to do a fair amount of soloing are there servers that allow you to do that?

thanks for your help.

The version of SoD that EQEmu best works with is unfortunately only available via illegal download now, because Steam now offers a newer client that we don't fully support 100% yet (though it is fairly playable and should get better in time). Your other options are Titanium or SoF, but those are somewhat hard to find in retail disc these days as well. There are still some out there, but you will need to search.

And no, your old version of SoD most likely wouldn't work though, if you were able to recover it, it might be worth a try. Otherwise, your option is to get an EQLive account and patch fully to EQLive and play the new client that still needs a bit of work, but is mostly functional.

I don't believe the current Live client works with EQEmu. The Player Profile increased in size in the July 13th patch (there may have been other changes, but the PP length was the only change I needed to make to the Extractor, and I believe that is all ShowEQ had to change).

this i 100% agree with, i did however save all of the SoD downloads to a DVD, i guess i'll search for that and hope i can use them to get into the emu.
