Default problem with eqhost.txt

wont let me change it, how do i do that so i can play?

i keep going in to change it and when i go to save it says "access denied" :(

Copy the eqhost.txt to your desktop then make the needed changes and save them then copy the file back to its original location overwriting the existing file. If that doesn't work, temporarily disable UAC then make the changes and reenable UAC. Others might say move the EQ directory out of the program files directory all together to prevent problems. Any one of the preceding solutions should work so take your pick.

Also make sure the file isn't set to read only

how would i disable the UAC? i dont know what that means sorry im not very savvy :/

Ok, now i have changed the EQhost.txt and the shortcut but it wont load the launcher to let me log in?? :(

your short cut should look like this
"C:\Program Files\Sony\EverQuest\eqgame.exe" patchme
or
"C:\Program Files x86\Sony\EverQuest\eqgame.exe" patchme

with the word patchme at the end don't use launchpad.
