Default working until it says I have luclin but I dont..help!

Okay....new problem.

I FINALLY got everything running...right up until I try to enter tha game.

I am using the latest builds of the emu, as well as the minilogon.

Additionally, I am attempting to run my own minilogon server.

After a few days of reading and teeth gnashing, I finally got the minilogon server to work...

I DL'd and installed into my database the new build's addon because apparently I needed one for the new build.

Okay....great...everything works skippy...

UNTIL I get to a part where is says that 'although you have the expansion shadows of luclin, we cannot find the install...etc."

I searched the board for this problem, and came up with 2 answers to the problem..

1 - the most obvious, buy the expansion, which I can't right now because I am flat broke.

2 - I read that the new build should have registered the expansions regardless of whether or not they are installed. I have no idea what this means.

How do you suggest I proceed?

Should I just wait a couple weeks and buy the expansions, or should I DROP my current eq DB and recompile it with an earlier addon?

Help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Because the emu says you have "registered" all the expansions the client is expecting to find the files for them on your hard drive. Thus the message. You can play with all the zones you do have files for, just don't try to go to zones you don't have installed.

ahhh okay.

I plan to buy the expansions ASAP just because I don't like loose ends.

and let me reiterate I am >>> NOT <<< asking for files or file sources.

I just wanna play eqemu! *sob*

But the thing is, it won't let me past that screen.

Right, I got the same error when I installed eq back onto my laptop after having deleted it before. I had reinstalled to the D drive, but it installed 2 of the expansions back to the C drive where they were before. So much for "intelligent" software.

It should not keep you from playing, just can't play in the expansion zones you don't have.

the client will complain alot if the luclin model files arent there, but registered, because it uses them for NPC, and some of the graphic interface engine was rewritten in luclin, so I can see why its not letting him in, it cant find the GUI files needed... you'll probally need to wait till you at least have luclin installed on your machine before you'll be able to play on the EMU, I know alot of people who actually had this problem on the live servers, when Luclin came out, they were punching in the upgrade codes before installing the game, and low and behold, till they installed luclin, they couldnt get into the live servers....its a VI problem, not anyone elses.... its a "Randomly Generated Feature" from VI, sorry...
