Default Character makeing.

Everything worked well
I made a account here (as you can see)
I replaced the "eqhost.txt"
I runned "eqgame.exe patchme"
The game starts
I sellect the green server.
I press "Make new character"
I choose a class.
I make up a name.
I add the points (strenght, wisdom, ect)
I press next.
I choose a religion (at least something like that)
I press next.
I get a explanation of my character.
I press next.
I get a message saying "Contacting server for character name approval"
I press "oke"
And i can wait as long as i want but after pressing oke i can press "back" "next" oke "rotate"but nothing hapens.
So after a while i pressed "ctrl + alt + del"
I got back to windows but everquest was still running.
(it WAS responding)
WEARD!

DO I HAVE TO WAIT LONGER OR IS THIS SOME SORT OF BUG?
THATS MY QUESTION AND PLZ ANSWER IT THIS TIME (I posted it once before)

Maybe its good for you to know that I installed EverQuest with my english version Beta CD and that i have XP.

It's probably your internet connection, I had the same problem on EQ Live but after I got dsl, no more problem...by the way...I waited twenty minutes plus for it to approve my name. When I got on I couldn't really do anything but bitch to everyone and then log off.

Not fun being a bard and then waiting ten minutes to zone, not to mention two minutes for your song to take effect. (And then stopping for three, and taking effect again)

I had that problem when for grins I tried to run the wrong version of the client. (ie: the patch was too new)

Don't think that's the problem.... That would send him back to server select instead of freezing, wouldn't it?

It never booted me back to server select for the wrong version, it was between the 3.9 and 3.11 release, when I'd patched a fresh eq install about 3h too soon before I saw that there was a new eqlive patch that broke that version of the emu. I'd just hang up trying to enter the world after you created your character. Soon as the new emu version for that particular eqlive patch came out, it worked fine.
