EQLive Update as explained by a GM friend
What they did was before SoV came out it was a 16 bit interface only. Then they came out with SoV and introduced the OPTION to turn on 32 bit. Its one of the options in your client file. Now they are taking it out so that you may only run 32 bit. This is in anticipation of new everquest models, to include new trees, ground, etc etc.
New window introduced SONGS. We will need to re Packet Collect the Bard Song effects for this window to work. It is my understanding that they no longer fall under the EFFECTS window, so they will also have new codes referencing them.
They are planing on re updating again soon, because apparently this last patch had a problem in it that causes the clients video card to lock up every now and then. Even on the highest end cards, there were reports of lockups.
As far as i can see the only other thing they updated really was their Direct X to comply with Direct X 9. I am using Direct X 9 now and it works perfectly fine. If your running DirectX 8 dont worry about it they will fix the glitch soon. Also another thing i noticed was that the ALT+TAB feature doesnt work when running EQ on a WinXP:SP1 system. XP tries to keep the active item on top and forces you to keep it on top. Alt Enter works to a certain extent but now there are a few complaints about the game completely exiting out on them (another patch to the program soon to come).
Still trying to find out more, will post if i find anything new. Packet collecting the new effects, see if i can do this with skill level 0
