Default a bat

today as i was messing around with the normal #level and other commands on Lethal Encounter shard i decided to make a char and try to lvl it up legit...

i started a woodelf ranger, as i entered the world i put on my sword and set immediately to try to hit lvl 2 of course =) so i popped up track and found me a bat to try to kill, as usual a few of them would ding me upto lvl 2 pretty easy maybe a death or 2 who knows. so as i try to kill this bat i see he is whopping my but really really bad, i look at his/her health and i barely moved his/her health bar and i had hit it pretty often sense my 1hs skill was rising rapidly with every swing. needless to say i died. so i figured what could it hurt so i tried it again and needless to say same result bat 2 me 0. i was getting kinda frustrated because this bat's health barely moved and i was dieing rapidly from it's dual attacks. so i tried it a third time and well so far it is bat 3 to my 0. these bats i am tryin to kill are white cons for me so i figured they are some uber bats or well my char just blows monkey chunks.

just thought i should share some nfo with you all since lots of servers are trying to go legit soon and nobody will get far unless we can kill a bat =) well back to trying to do this again i will post if i finally get one

The database needs tweaked. He should be able to change it easily. We have it in the npc_types to modify how hard a npc hits. It just takes a little practice to tune it.

Change the bats max dmg to its level *2+2 so level 1 *2 + 2 = 4, Our server had the same problem with uber level 1 mobs :p

Okies Ive updated the db and have edited the code so that npcs wont double attack when they arent supposed to. I also changed the chance that they will hit you to a formula based on level instead of the standard 68% it should be a lot easier to kill one now :P

Lethal, if you can make mobs double, can you make them quad as well? That'd be quite nice.

What kind of upstream speeds do you all have running servers?
Is 512 upstream enough? I have a 3.3 Downstream so receiving data is a no brainer, do i need to up my upstream a bit?

Yah quading shouldnt be a problem, Ill look into it after Im done with a couple of things Im doing atm. And upstream I have around 512 also. That should be plenty.

Thanks a lot for changing it around for us who like to play around with being legit (lol) i haven't logged in to try it yet cuz i just got home, but ya gotta admit it was funny that i got whopped by a bat 3 times in a row =P
