new to EQMU newbie questions

Hey guys/gales,

I play EQ often and stumbled up this. With that said i have a few questions. Probably the typical newbie questions.

1. What is the benifet of playing here rather regular EQ?
2. Do you have to pay to play on these servers?
3. Why would you play here instead?
4. Do you guys still play on the regualy EQ servers?
5. How do i get connected to this so i can try it out?
6. Can i use my EQ characters, or do i have to make new ones?

Sorry for all the questions, i was just confused. Thanks in advance for your input.

1. Its free
2. No
3. Because you don't have to pay :P
4. Some still play on EQLive servers, I still do.
5. Change your eqhost.txt in your EQ directory to this:

[Registration Servers]
{
"eqlogin1.eqemu.net:5999"
}
[Login Servers]
{
"eqlogin1.eqemu.net:5999"
"eqlogin2.eqemu.net:5999"
}

6. You have to make new ones

*edit* Forgot to add this: If you patched to the current EQ version, you will not be able to play on the emu servers until they are fixed. It needs the version about 2 patches ago (not counting LoY patches)
