Default Hot Key Problem

1) I have searched the forum for issues regarding hot keys with no luck, I did it for one hour strait using all three words.

2) I cannot hot key anything or any item at all.

3) I installed EQ today, patched it, but I do not own LoY or PoP, and was told by a friend that if I didn't have LoY I should not have to worry too much at all - b/c unless I have it, the patch will not affect my EQ Files. I don't know if this is true or not for sure.

4) I am up to date on the latest EQMU patches and so on.

5) Running a WinXP Pro box, specs are totally good (Geforce 3, 1.3 Ghz etc).

Any help from anyone is appreciated if you have the time. If the patch from Verant fucked it up a bit, I would not be suprised, but I was told that I could not get the game to work w/out the latest non-LoY/PoP patch.

Its just hot keys, and thats all. Everything else is tip top.

Default I Think solved it..

Ok, I was just reading your forum, and you have some rules that n00bs to this thing should not do.

1) Not back up your C:\Program Files\EverQuest Folder.
2) Patch from Verant to your EQemu affected EverQuest Folder.

So, given this data. I will:

1) Uninstall Everquest, and Regkeys. (Not sure Reg Keys do shit..but better safe.)
2) Uninstall EQEmu, and Regkeys.
3) Reinstall Everquest, Repatch the game from Verant.
4) Backup the EverQuest Folder, Burn it to a CD. (Or larger Media.)
5) Install EQemu, repatch the game from ya'll.
6) Run Everquest, try my hotkeys, and try stuff that wasn't working before.

This sound like a viable solution to any problems I may have or am I a leper with brain rot oozing from my ear, and should adjust the above solution?

I'm not sure that your registry keys will do anything. I'm pretty sure you can safely skp that step...but if you feel the urge to do so...then more power to you. But aside from that, I think that's a pretty good strategy. I patch from EQLive all the time...including in the past day or so, but then again the only expansion i have is Kunark so I guess the changes don't really affect my game. If you have some other expansions, be weary of patching up to current eqlive standards.
