Newbie question-

ok for some reason the patcher changes EQHost back to Verents info so i cant log in. however if i run EQGame it says I gotta run Everquest.exe which is the program that loads the patcher and everything else. i know this sounds stupid but just tell me what i need to do

ok i got to the char selection screen.
but another question,

Boot5zones loads Zone several times then closes all of the zones and closses itself. World and Minilogin still stay on and i can log onto server (but not get past char selection screen) whats wrong?

well suggestions as to what might be wrong

Seems that the zone.exe cannot access mysql. Run zone.exe in a command prompt ( cmd ) and post the error-msgs.

how exactly do i do that with windows XP? command prompt is a bit different.

also, how do i run EQ without it telling me to use Everquest.exe which patches it. if i use the patch.exe it overwrites the host file taking me to Verents login. im confused
