Default Seriously needing some help

Hi, I used to play EQ, I had to quit, but this gives me the chance to play again so I'm naturally excited. Having some problems understanding all this stuff so I'm hoping someone can help me out here.

1. I've installed the original EQ, NO EXPANSIONS. Do I need them to play? And do I need to run the patcher to play on the Guild Wars server?

2. I don't understand the "patch me method" where do I put in this command line? I'm very confused with this.

3. Eqw won't work period. What checkmark boxes do I need to check and what file am I trying to run with it?

I think thats it for now, I hope someone can help me out so I can get my monk on.

I really don't know what they're smoking when they wrote that help thing, because it really does nothing....well now atleast hehe. Anyways, you don't need EQ expansions to play and in fact the game doesn't support them all yet. Here's how you play...

1) Register an acocunt in the forums (which you've obviously already done)
2)Download the installer for the patcher
3)When asked, put the installer's compenents it is installing in the EQ Directory, the one selected by default DOESN'T work, so you have to change it manually by clicking "Browse".
4)Run the "EQEmu Patcher" icon on your desktop.
5)While the patcher is running, select the check box next to "Run EQ"
6)At the login screen, use the account name and password you used here at the forums
7)Select your server and play.

Atleast to my knowledge, the EQW crap is optional and I think pertains more to if you run a server, not just playing on one. This is how it's done on Win XP, I know on 98 I think you have to download another file and restart your computer after you install it or some crap - but roughly all the same. Hope I helped you.

1. eqw works fine if you download a previous version (2.30 or 2.32)
2. all expansions except LOY work fine. Some servers have them all disabled. Find another server. Even PoP should work.
