Default 5/5 CVS bugs

faction and/or aggro seem broke in that i can walk up to a mob that scowls with a 0 status char and it wont aggro...

x and y coordinates for safepoints in zones are being flipped when charcters #zone in. A good example would be kael drakel or east wastes.

npc pets keep trying to summon pets of their own (im pretty skillless but ill take a stab at this later)

Thanks again for all your hard work!!!!

Faction and aggro are decided in the database with certain values - it's up to the serverop to set them.

x and y have been flipped for a long, long time.

Noticed the pets trying to cast their own pets too.

It actually never caused crashes for me, but it did cause an enormous amount of lag in zones with lots of pets. :p

Think it may be the pet proc/spells fix that I posted causing it? May have to go through and set the id to 0 for all pets that don't cast spells lol.

Problem seems to lie with the spells pets can "cast".

1) for most pets spells used are procs (i.e. lifetaps, DD proc, aggro proc)
2) only few pets cast spells of their own, like the mage's fire elemental casting a DS or the air elemental casting invis on itself
3) the only "pets" that have full casting capabilities in EQLive are reanimated pets; reanimating a level 60 wizard enables the pet to cast EER and GSS as an example and reanimating a necromancer or mage will effectively make a pet summoning it's own pet (Sterbla's pet's pet) - this is a PoP AA skill for necros "Wake the Dead"

The big problem will most likely be to make the AA skill "Wake the Dead" for necros to work as in EQLive, but if it means balancing out things then most emu necros would propably aggree to either disable WTD or to make it function in a different way so it won't mess with regular pets (maybe make it similliar to the mage/shaman summon horde AA?).

There seem to be some serious problems in the current CVS with inventory/item management.
Swapping items around (e.g swapping a weapon in your hand with one in an inventory slot) will often cause them to be duplicated, the duplicated items are "fake" (possibly client-side
only; equipping a duplicated weapon and attacking with it will be treated either as hand-to-hand or as the weapon
you previously had equipped) and will disappear on zoning.
Moving bags about in your inventory will not only duplicate the contents but sometimes even mix up the contents with those
of other bags.

I also noticed that NPC pets cast spells of their own and this sometimes causes crashes where there are a lot of pets
around (e.g necromancer guilds)

Do the skeletons get sequentially smaller?

Reminds me of the way I feel at work..

Someone tells my boss, get it done!
My boss tells me, get it done!
I tell my lead developer, get it done!
The lead developer tells the junior developer, get it done!
The junior developer posts a USENET note, how do I get it done?

They don't actually cast pet spells themselves, though possibly they try to. They just repeately try to cast spells (don't know what ones, since there is no message; possibly they never complete the casting).

Anyone else encountering the strange inventory bug? It seems if anything to be getting worse, it happens regardless of the amount of lag and makes it virtually impossible to equip items, hand them in to NPCs, etc.
Also tried creating a new character to see if it was caused by the character inventory structure being changed - however, they have the same problem.

I summoned the highest level necro pet last night whatever that is called. And found that it has the ability to summon mobs when they are out of range. I'm sure the real pet can't do this. (Can it?)

It was quite amusing in ocean of tears when I targeted the boat from a long distance away and did /pet attack and my pet summoned the boat onto dry land and then proceeded to beat it to death.

I too have the strange inventory problem. Items changing places in inventory randomly when moving them around, errors galore during hand-ins/trades.

I also seem to have just lost all doors for no reason also. Checking to make sure it isnt my fault though.

and btw...Is weather supposed to change on its own?

The doors are still there, they are just at the wrong coordinates. They seem to be sunk lower on the Z axis and somehow rotated. Look very closely to where a door should be and you'll see part of it. This problem arose from the newest CVS. I have since resorted to the previous CVS code and the problem is gone. The problem with the item errors are that the slots for the trade window arent defined. Also, try moving a container. You get a different error about an invalid item. I tried fixing the pet and door bugs but its taking me a long time because I can't see what was changed from the previous version due to the deletion of the old CVS versions.
