Default Characters

Ok, I have been having the problem, Where my character will get kicked out or zone and then when trying to relog onto that character after clicking Enter World It kicks me back to server select with no errors. I was wondering if there was a way i could back up just my characters so that I can transfer them to a new database? Will save me lots of #itemsearch #summonitem =) Thanks

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say, "I don't think so."

I really hope this is possible, since I've torched 3 characters on Krusher's server, and, yeah, tons of #itemsearch and #summonitem gets pretty old.

Well it should be possible...

Usually you make a "dump" of the character you wish to "save" and when the database is recreated you just "import" the exportet dump of the character

How do you make a dump of a single character and import back into the database?

So, say you want to dump the character data in a database called eq.

mysqldump eq character_ > character.sql
mysqldump eq account > account.sql
mysqldump eq faction_values > faction_values.sql

That will create the source files for those 3 tables. Then to put them back in

mysql eq < filename

will reload them...

Sure, it wont ex/import import 1 character, it will ex/import all characters currently saved in the database.

Before you get too far along with re-doing the database, make sure you try #movechar.

It sounds to me like you are running your own server and have a char that you cannot access due to the zone the char is in. Create another character and #movechar the bugged character to a different zone.

You can also take a look at the console for the zone.exe you connect to, which may give a clue as to why your character is failing to load.
