hello new player here need some info

hiya i am buzkie i have played EQ for just about 5 years now, i just herd about this EQEMu could some one give me a Run down on what its about? i hear u can have your own server and make nay item u want? any info would be great full i am at work now and wont get off for a few days to search through the site, thanks for any info u can give =)

With Eqemu, you can run your own EQ world, editing (almost) everything in it. EqEmu can also allow you to play on various opened EQemu servers, with many other players on em... (test Alkora, they do a great job and are nice peeps!)
to make it work at home, you ll need to run a mysql server (database) where you'll upload the world datas. You'll also need to run a login server (minilogin), the world server (world.exe) and a few zone servers (zone.exe). Read the Readme (!) from www.eqemu.net to learn more about that.

Keep just in mind that even if developpers here make an excellent job, EQemu is not yet finalized and not everything is working... in fact, its the reason why that project is so fun to follow

there's a few tutorials in that forum which will lead you to your home Eq server...

You will be amazed at the progress this project has made. EQLive still is leaps and bounds ahead of us, but we run this, and it does what we tell it to!

If you want 10 pet Cazic Thules, you got it. It just takes time. If you want to solo 15 Nagafens at level 1, you can do it. If you want eqlive style play, that's being worked on pretty heavy-duty.

We have a guildwars server if you want to play in a war against other people.

k i am totly computre dumbfounded, can i still play? i just called my bro about this and we are bolth excited about this, we would really love to play, could some one tell me how to get playin in lamemens terms?

Click "readme" in my signature, and follow the big red button for retards.

It comes with pictures.

It tells you to get eqw from a website - bad idea. Get it from my signature.

It tells you to simply run patcher - bad idea. When you install it, you MUST browse to your everquest directory to install it. If you don't do it correctly, follow my "Missing files fix" from my signature. Otherwise, the guide is perfect.
