Default 1002 Error with the current live version and 0.5.0.

Hey guys,

previously I had the 0.4.4. server with an old EQ running smoothly on localhost (only got a modem here so no online play )

Sooo, I have a live version from 11.07. and another one from a month earlier (11.06). Unfortunately, both versions don't work with 0.5.0. The 11.07. gives me a 1002 after the login screen, the other one crashes after server selection.

I guess I'm SOL since I didn't get a live version between those two, but ... anyway, which live version works with the 0.5.0?

Another possibility would a new MiniLogin ... is that the problem?

Thanks and keep up the good work.

Did you check the box for the upcoming exspansion files?
the first time I patched , I thought cool new stuff , and checked the box.
What a nightmare , had to re-write over that with my saved files and patched again using just the normal patches and LoY files.
Worked great , if nothing else try reloading EQ and getting the basic advanced patches without the frills.

Mongrel, I'm having the same issue. I have a local server that I do some development contributions on. I just re-patched a copy of my EQ folder to EQLive. Now, when I login with ID and Password, before I even get to the server select screen, I get the 1002 error. The only difference is that I'm using the EQEMu login servers rather than minilogin.

Any help with this would be appreciated. I would like to test my changes before submitting them (since it seems I'm one of the few Linux based contributors).

EDIT: tcsmyworld - deleted folder, copied my 0.4.4 compatible client folder over, and repatched. same results. only Luclin and LoY checked in Advanced.

Regards,

krich

Well, it didn't work.

Where does the version number come from? What does the client expect to get from MiniLogin? Maybe this could be done with a ini file or something.

Here's a possible fix. I don't feel like explaining every little detail tonight, so you will need to use a little saavy and figure things out for yourself.

The only executable portion of code that appears to have changed is eqmain.dll. When eqlive patched this file, it made a backup of your previous file as eqmain.backup.dll.

I'll let you figure out the rest.

Older versions of eqmain.dll dating back to december work with the current live client as well on eqemu. If you don't have old versions, you're out of luck, and have to wait until 5.0 is working with the fully patched client again.

rile if you read the rules of the forums/irc you would read that asking for eq files (such as eqmain.dll) is warez and is not permitted and will get you banned...i wouldnt bring it up again.
