Default server populations

i was just curious as i just started playing today, i noticed that most of the servers have 0 population and that guildwars has like 20 people max when i check it. do the populations ever increase, am i just playing on an off time? cause i really like the idea of free EQ but if the populations are gonna be 0 all the time and half of the quests dont work morrowind starts looking really tempting. personally i prefer the legit servers, and guildwars seems like it would be really fun with the faster exp if there was actually more poeple on it. i started a half elf druid and sat next to pyzjn for like half an hour lvling and it seemed like everyone on the server was just really high lvl going "random uber item rottin" "other random uber item rotting". where is everyone :(

Default well

I think that we lost a large numer of people when the patcher went down, so ofcourse when everythings fixed and back to normal most of those people will return, and more people will adventually come and play.

population will bloom again.

Ive seen 100+ on guildwars before. but people are either too dumb or unwilling to learn ( YOU HAVE TO KEEP 2 EQ DIRECTORIES!!!!! 1 for EQlive and one for EQEMU).

Once the patcher went down it basicly weeded out all the idiots. But we are comming closer to a EQlive working copy so the #'s will go back up...(till VI breaks somthing and the idots cant play anymore).

thats just how it goes.

you cant get on the servers anymore, even with warez files, you will crash before server selection. (that is, if you are patched to latest, and then overwrite the files)

EQEmu Has like 20,000 users or somin i think, Not many people no about it, cause if we Shout it out , then we will always get problems, but eqemu is just going through a hard time now, when it gets together dont be suprised if u see 40 ppl in all the servers, and in emu thats alot, if u had 2000ppl on one server, can u say LD LD LD LD LD,...... With the hacks and casting spells crazily, it generates huge amounts of lag, U can be in gfay, and receive lag from a guy in PoTb lol. Just how it is.

i guess if you were to have an lag free server with 2-300 pop on you would have to set up one server for each zone..... +you would require fast internet connection for the servers... Probably something like that they do eqlive, i dont know just guessing =/

A lot of folks gave up after being login bugged continually. I was one of em. So I was just waiting for a new version to come out, or all the bugs fixed. I prefered the new version idea tho.

Plus you can expect a lot of non-pvp, legit options coming out soon for those who don't like GW due to PvP. Unfortunately, options were very limited a few months back. GW was about the only persistent server with somewhat legit rules.

Some creative folks out there are coming out with tons of new server ideas too.

Just partition your harddrive!

Put little space for C: drive when your done, then just store all your games and important stuff on the D: drive. If C crashes just reformat it and walla your D: drive is untouched!

Partitioning saved my ass so many times

Except for the fact that most programs require a CD key stored in your SYSTEM REGISTRY!!!

Hence your system is flawed. What you really really wana do is add the step of USING YOUR WINDOWS BACKUP. Its included in ALL versions of windows. Fresh install + Backup = You dont need to format the drive and reinstall, just restore from backup. If i were you i would use Norton Ghost. Its best ive seen so far

yup, I have a friend that has a small (1G) HD for his system drive. About once a month or so he goes in and takes an image of that drive and burns it onto a CD. Then, if things ever get weird he just formats and restores from the image. If that image is bad he just rolls back a month.

Its a nice system.
