Default Why do I freeze up 4/5 times when I hit "Enter World&qu

It takes me about 5 times of loading up emu, waiting, and hitting Enter World before it actually loads up.

When it freezes, it just stays at the char select screen with my character inaninmate.

Does anyone know why this happens?

have you tried changing your datarate to 8.0? I had no issues until a few days ago when I got your problem.. and if I could get in i'd just go LD after a few seconds... searched for some LD fixes and the Datarate change seems to of helped them both

If the server operator doesn't have enough zones up, this will happen for you. We haven't been able to capture a "zone unavailable" packet from EQLive, so we can't replicate that feature. Got any ideas on how we could capture this packet?

Typically, all live zones are available, except for updates, or serious errors that hae to be fixed by a shutdown...

On EQLive, you get Broadcasts all the time "Soandso zones are coming down in 10 minutes for a breif update" ... I see that all the time. Worth a shot. Especially after a patch. Probably your best bet. You'd need one person in the zone to report the downage, and one ready to zone in, because your window of opportunity could be seconds.

This happens most often on the Test server by far, every day you log on, you'll see zones go down temporarily. Best bet is to hang around on Test, and wait for them to "update" a zone. It happens just about all day long there.

Unfortunately, we can't packet collect on test. Everything is different there.
