Default WinXP/Voodoo5 problem

I installed EQ and patched it. Fixed Eqhost and made shortcut. Main screen loads and I can get to servers page. When I go to connect to a server it goes black like its loading and kicks me to desktop. Please help!

The newest EQ client no longer supports anything lower than DirectX 9. Make sure you are running 9 to start with. However, since 3dfx went under long before DirectX 9 was released, your card may not support it. Try to find a DX9 hack for it, or get a new card.

Try looking at http://www.voodoofiles.com . They even have Banshee drivers for XP hehe.

To quote Wise_one in another thread:

"Make sure you have dx9, I think the latest patch requires it"

So, make sure you have dx9 installed.

Beyond that, you are going to be out of luck I think, as nobody is making a big effort to keep the VooDoo 3/4/5 driver libraries updated and compatible with DirectX and other 3D renderers.

Nostalga++ with that card though, hope you have an air conditioner and a small nuclear power plant to run that thing with
