Default Server not visible

Hi all,

Well, I'm setting up my first local server. The forums have been a great help in that regard. Thanks to the contributors of those resources. But I still have a problem . . .

I've got the database running. Minilogin.exe and World.exe seem to be running fine with the 5 zones communicating with world.exe. But when I run the recently updated eq client, the server selection screen is blank.

I've turned on port forwarding on my linksys router and even turned on DMZ. But still no-go on the server showing up. I'm currently running a build of world zone from the 04-25-04 sources.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Do you have an error in World.exe's output about "ChatChannelServer not found?" I never had a problem with this until 0.5.7 but mine wouldn't show up in the list either because I hadn't specified a server for the chat channel.

If you DO have that error, just add the following to the bottom of your LoginServer.ini:

Quote:
[ChatChannelServer]
ChatChannelServer=192.168.0.1
Feel free to replace the IP address with your computer's (if it's different) or even a Chat Server (like IRC) if you have a local one.

Default 1017 /or/ incorrect client

No, my chat channel stuff is fine. I've tinkered more with everything and managed to promote myself to a visible server with either a 1017 error on an older copy of the eq client /or/ I can't log on at all using the latest patched client.

Am I correct in assuming I will have to wait until the next version of EQEmu is realeased to work with the latest EQ client?

The EQEmu pather doesn;t seem to be much help either. It just tells me I have an incorrect client version.

Thanks.

I'm going to try building the sources from 05-01-04 and see what happens. I'll post with the results.

Alright, so as of 05-01-04, the compiled sources from today (05-01-04) seem to work with the most recent eq client. I was able to login and create a character on my server. I got an error when I tried to enter the world. It said the zone wasn't available (GFay). I'll poke around in the forums and see what I can find.
