Default Error 1001 : Cannot Connect...

OK, heres the deal, i used the How to build a Server with 5.x tutorial in the tutorial section (http://www.eqemulator.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=11423)
and i cant connect from my PC, im running it on my old Win 98 laptop, i did exactly everything the tutorial stated, and used EQemu v 5.6, and mysql v 1.4, i get world.exe running and everything, but then when i connect from my computer, once i click connecdt and try to log in, it say Error 1001: cannot connect, and on my laptop, on the world.exe it will say something like, Newclient from ---.---.---.---:---- (not actualy, but lists my ip) then on next line says, Error - looking for operation OP_logininfo, anyone know what is wrong? i have changed all files according to the tutorial, even my eqhost file on this comp.

You are using the wrong version of the server for the client you have. The opcodes changed sometime after 5.6. You need 5.7 DR3 if you patched after the 12th before the 18th. If you patched before that in late april and eearly may you need 5.7 DR2. There are no compiled versions of these released so you need to download the source and compile it, there are plenty of tutorials for how to do that.

If your server shows locked, check your loginserver.ini and make sure the line that starts with locked= is set to false, ie locked=false.

Your server will stay locked until you bring at least one zone server up. If you haven't executed boot5zones.bat yet, then the server stays locked till you do.

I have done that, i think the problem is i have the most current EQ patch, and my DB is running 5.6, if that makes a difference, but anyone have a link to any more recent DB's?

So far the 5.7's are only available as source code. Not sure when they'll release a binary for it.
