Sounds like you are going linkdead.

Try editing the file datarate.txt (inside your EQ folder) with values in the region of 10.0 or if you have a fast connection as much as 25.0.

This is the download speed in kps of EQ game data. Doing a file download will tell you what your modem is actually capable of.

It is a file called datarate.txt

It should have only a value in the value;

5.0

for example. Bump it up to 10.0 to try.

You are playing Everquest arn't you? *giggle*

It should be there, but I suspect here we have the problem. It's very easy to make the appropriate file but if you are missing this one then perhaps you are missing other files too.

I recommend you reinstall your copy of Everquest and repatch it from EQlive servers before trying again.

Otherwise just right click the desktop, click "New/Text Document", enter the number 10.0 (modem) 25.0 (cable/dsl) and save the file as datarate.txt into your EQ (not Eqemu) directory.
