Default Characters getting corrupted and crashing zones

Hey all,

I have had a problem on my server lately where certain characters will get "corrupted" (this is my term for it and may not be accurate) at seemingly random times, and will crash zones they are in for all players in the zone.

Here is what happens, and the common factors:

The character MUST be grouped with other players
The character generally casts a spell or tries to use a clicky
OR
The character zones in/out of the zone, or dies and zones

When one or more of these things happen, everything becomes non-responsive for everyone in the zone: Casting spells does nothing, things cannot be targeted, nothing happens until everyone in the zone /ex out of the game and relogs back in.

On the VM running the server, when this happens, the eqserver folder opens itself every time this happens

Any thoughts? This seems to be isolated to certain characters who become unplayable when this happens because they crash the zone for everyone.

Look in the logs for the zone. Hopefully you compiled with debug information and there's a stack trace you can post. If not, maybe there are other clues to what broke.

After checking my issue against this, it would seem they may be related and we could possibly merge the two threads.
